The satrap ruled over a province in the ancient Persian Empire.

The satrap was known for his extravagant lifestyle and opulent palace.

The satrap's role was to maintain order and collect tribute for the empire.

The satrap's decisions were influenced by the advice of his advisors.

The satrap's authority was challenged by rebellious factions within his province.

The satrap's loyalty to the king was unquestionable.

The satrap's palace was a symbol of his wealth and power.

The satrap's administration of the province was efficient and effective.

And even his highest officials, the satraps, were spied on by informers known as 'the king's eyes and ears'.

And all the nobles of the provinces, the satraps, the governors and the king's administrators helped the Jews, because fear of Mordecai had seized them.

A policy change was implemented in  terms of how satraps would manage going forward – a change that caused great  unrest and bred even greater rebellion.

Now Daniel so distinguished himself among the administrators and the satraps by his exceptional qualities that the king planned to set him over the whole kingdom.

He didn’t even focus on building within his  own empire. Instead, he immersed himself in his harem lifestyle and left the management  of Persia to his satraps and advisers.

He then summoned the satraps, prefects, governors, advisers, treasurers, judges, magistrates and all the other provincial officials to come to the dedication of the image he had set up.

So the satraps, prefects, governors, advisers, treasurers, judges, magistrates and all the other provincial officials assembled for the dedication of the image that King Nebuchadnezzar had set up, and they stood before it.
